2020 Long Yuan Hao Menghai Chenxiang Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake – 380g 龙园号勐海陈香

A 2020 Yunnan ripe Pu-erh / shou puer from Long Yuan Hao, pressed into a generous 380g cake. Made from Yunnan large-leaf sun-dried tea material and fermented in the Menghai style, this tea is built around a deep aged aroma, mellow sweetness and a smooth, full-bodied liquor.

Tea type: Ripe Pu-erh / Shou Puer
Year: 2020
Brand: Long Yuan Hao / 龙园号
Origin: Menghai, Yunnan
Format: Compressed round tea cake
Net weight: 380g

Taste & aroma

The cup is rich and rounded with a clear aged fragrance, warm woody depth, gentle sweetness and a soft, lingering finish. The liquor brews deep red-brown and remains smooth through repeated infusions, making it especially approachable for everyday ripe-Pu-erh drinking.

How to brew

Gongfu: Break off 6–8g with a tea pick and use a 100–150ml gaiwan or small teapot. Brew with 95–100°C / 203–212°F water. Rinse briefly, then begin with a 10–15 second infusion. Increase later steeps gradually.

Everyday teapot: Use around 5g per 300ml of boiling water and steep for 3–4 minutes. Re-steep several times, adding time to later brews.

When to drink

This mellow shou Pu-erh is comfortable after breakfast, after lunch or during a relaxed evening tea session. Its smooth, settled character also makes it a dependable office tea or thermos tea.

Food pairing

Pair with roasted nuts, dates, dark chocolate, sesame pastries, mooncake, dim sum, roast meats or mushroom dishes. Toasted, nutty and gently sweet flavours complement the tea’s mature profile particularly well.

Storage & aging

Keep the cake in a clean, dry, ventilated and odor-free place away from direct sunlight and excess humidity. Store it in tea paper, a dedicated tea box or a suitable ceramic jar. Stable storage helps preserve the aged fragrance and allows gradual further development.

Tea-room styling & gifting

The cream-and-red wrapper gives this 380g cake a classic Menghai tea-house look that works naturally in New Chinese, Zen, wabi-sabi and vintage tea-room interiors. Display one wrapped cake upright on a dark-wood or ceramic stand beside a gaiwan and tea pick. Its recognisable Long Yuan Hao presentation also makes it a practical gift for ripe-Pu-erh drinkers.
