What Is Tea Fossil / Sui Yin Zi?

Tea Fossil is a compact ripe-Pu-erh form made from dense fermented tea pieces. The nugget shape opens slowly and releases flavour over repeated infusions, making it especially suitable for drinkers who enjoy a smooth, dark and enduring tea session.

Tasting Profile

Expect a deep red-brown liquor with a smooth, thick mouthfeel, aged woody and earthy notes, gentle sweetness and a lingering cooked-Pu-erh fragrance. Because the pieces are dense, the flavour builds gradually through successive infusions rather than appearing all at once.

How to Brew

Large teapot style: use roughly 8–12g for 400–600ml water. Rinse first, then steep for around 1–2 minutes and adjust according to strength. Re-steep while the liquor remains aromatic and pleasant.
