Taste & aroma
The cup is mellow, smooth and rounded, with warm woody depth, gentle sweetness and a clean bamboo fragrance. As the tea opens, the mature shou character becomes richer while the bamboo note keeps the profile fresh and distinctive rather than heavy.
How to brew
Gongfu: Use 6–8g in a 120–150ml gaiwan or small teapot. Brew with 95–100°C / 203–212°F water. Rinse briefly, then begin with a 10–15 second infusion. Extend later steeps gradually.
Everyday teapot: Use around 5g per 300ml of boiling water and steep for 3–4 minutes. Re-steep several times, increasing the time for later infusions.
When to drink
This mellow ripe Pu-erh works beautifully after breakfast, after lunch or in the evening. The bamboo presentation also makes it a natural choice for guest service and slower weekend tea sessions.
Food pairing
Pair with roasted nuts, dates, sesame pastries, mooncake, dark chocolate, dim sum or savoury mushroom dishes. Toasted and gently sweet foods complement the tea’s mature, bamboo-accented profile especially well.
Storage & aging
Keep the tea in a clean, dry, ventilated and odor-free environment away from direct sunlight and excess humidity. The bamboo tube can remain part of the presentation, while the tea itself should stay protected from kitchen odors, moisture and strong temperature swings.
Tea-room styling & gifting
The natural bamboo tube, red cloth top and vertical calligraphy make this one of the most decorative Pu-erh formats for New Chinese, Zen, Japandi and wabi-sabi interiors. Display it upright beside pale timber, Yixing clay, stoneware or linen. It also makes a memorable housewarming, Lunar New Year or tea-lover gift.
