Kauppi & Kauppi Expands Ifö Electric’s Solenne: A New 360mm Low Shade & 2500lm LED Module
The Scandinavian porcelain-lighting collection grows with a flatter 360mm opal-glass silhouette and a stronger light engine—proof that decorative lighting is becoming more architectural, not less.

Kauppi & Kauppi’s Solenne collection for Ifö Electric has expanded in 2026 with a new lower 360 mm glass shade and a new high-output 2500 lumen LED module. The update creates additional pendant and flush-mounted versions while preserving the collection’s soft, diffused light.
A lower profile changes the architecture
The new 360/140 shade is slightly flatter than the existing 360/155 format, creating a calmer, more floating expression. That may sound like a small dimensional change, but in lighting it affects how the object reads from across a room—especially over dining tables, in hallways and on lower ceilings.
The collection continues to use generous matt opal glass and glazed porcelain bases, materials that give Solenne a tactile quality very different from thin metal or plastic LED fixtures.
The 2500lm module makes it more useful in larger rooms
Ifö Electric has introduced a more powerful 2500 lumen LED module for four 360 mm Solenne models, including pendant and flush-mounted versions with both high and low shades. The fixtures can also accept classic E27 light sources.
This flexibility matters because decorative lighting often looks beautiful but underperforms as actual room light. A stronger output allows the fixture to contribute more meaningfully to ambient illumination rather than acting only as a glowing object.
Porcelain is the real design story
Ifö Electric has a long history of pressed porcelain, and Solenne uses that industrial craft in a contemporary way. The material is durable, visually soft and appropriate for both indoor and selected outdoor applications. In luxury interiors, porcelain also relates naturally to ceramics, stone and handmade objects.
This makes Solenne particularly interesting for new-Chinese or Japanese-influenced interiors. A black or white porcelain base can sit comfortably near Jingdezhen ceramics, pale oak, dark walnut or textured plaster without becoming literal “Asian” styling.

What this tells us about lighting trends
For years, premium interiors pushed toward almost invisible downlights and linear LEDs. The current shift is not abandoning architectural light; it is adding visible luminaires back into the room. The best new pieces behave like both architecture and object.
Solenne fits that change perfectly: simple silhouette, traditional material, strong scale and enough technical output to be useful.
