Coway Launches BEREX Triple Chair 2 Slim: The Office Chair, Recliner & Massage Chair Are Becoming One

Coway’s latest BEREX chair is 9% smaller than its predecessor and combines work posture, reclining, heating and massage—an unusually clear signal of where compact multi-use furniture may be heading.

Coway has launched the BEREX Triple Chair 2 Slim, a multifunctional chair designed to serve as an office chair, recliner and massage chair in one. According to the company, the product responds to smaller homes and the growing number of one- and two-person households by reducing overall volume while adding more adjustable functions.

What changed

The new model is 9% smaller in volume than the previous version. Hidden wheels make it easier to move while keeping the silhouette cleaner. Seat height can be adjusted by up to 5 cm, the backrest reclines from 110 degrees for working to 150 degrees for relaxation, and the backrest and leg rest can be adjusted separately.

Coway has also integrated a three-zone heating system for the back and legs and an upgraded three-dimensional massage mechanism whose massage balls move up to 83 mm in multiple directions. When the massage system is not in use, the rollers retract into the backrest to reduce pressure against the user.

Why this is design news, not just wellness news

For years, massage chairs have been visually bulky and spatially demanding. The important part of this launch is the attempt to merge three furniture typologies into one object. That matters in urban apartments, guest rooms and hybrid home offices where every large chair needs to justify its footprint.

The broader implication is that furniture and appliances are beginning to overlap. A chair is no longer necessarily passive upholstery; it can include motors, heating, controls and hidden mobility while still being expected to look appropriate beside a desk or sofa.

Where it could make sense at home

Space Why it fits
Home office Work posture by day, recline mode after work
Bedroom suite One chair can replace separate desk and lounge seating
Small apartment Reduced footprint and hidden mobility suit flexible layouts
Media room Recline and leg support without a full cinema recliner

How we would style it

The chair works best if the room around it is restrained. Put it beside a slim walnut desk, wool rug and architectural floor lamp rather than surrounding it with gym-like wellness equipment. If the upholstery is pale, use dark timber or blackened metal nearby to give the chair visual definition.

In a new-Chinese interior, the silhouette can sit surprisingly well beside a dark wood screen, stone side table and one Jingdezhen vase. The trick is to let the technology disappear into a calm room instead of trying to make every object look futuristic.

The Luxe Journal takeaway

The BEREX Triple Chair 2 Slim is interesting because it treats wellness hardware as furniture rather than as a separate machine. Whether this exact category becomes mainstream will depend on comfort, durability and pricing, but the direction is clear: premium furniture is becoming more multifunctional and more technically integrated.
